History of our Club
In March 1999, the Sestao Synchronized Swimming Sports Club was founded, following a resolution issued by the Illustrious Director of Sports of the Basque Government on the 11th of the aforementioned month and year.
The first general assembly took place on April 18, 1999, where the Club's main objectives were agreed upon.
Increase female participation in sport.
To publicize and promote Synchronized Swimming.
In the years in which it was founded and launched, with clear and concise objectives, it was led as President by Mr. José Alfonso Díez, current Head of Aquatic Activities for the Sports Department of the Sestao City Council.
The Club's first summer exhibition was held in June 1999 and a trip to the city of Valladolid in July, thus concluding the short but intense initial season of the Club and School.
At the end of that same year, the Club's first magazine was created, called "Sirenas Sincro Sestao", where all the activities related to the Club were made known, as well as the School, Swimmers, History of Synchronized Swimming, Sports and Nutrition, etc.
In 2000, the first Basque Synchronized Swimming Championship was held, establishing itself as the first federated competition, where our first female swimmers received their first medal reward from the Federation itself.
Since those years until today, there have been numerous exhibitions held in various places in Spain, among which the Fabio Nelli Tournament in Valladolid stands out, because it brought together the best Synchronized Swimming sports clubs from all over Spain, clubs such as Sincro Retiro, Sincro Aviles, Fabio Nelli, etc., and from which new training systems and sports discipline were learned.
